Supervision and Service

During my work in college for my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration I was involved in numerous levels of business service throughout my undergraduate study.  I have developed skills in retail.  In this service task for the business, I specialized in assisting customers with their selection process of products they were seeking for their needs.  With the implementation of my undergraduate business education I utilized fundamentals in Marketing and Advertising such as Professional Sales, Public Relations, Marketing Concepts and Practices and Marketing Communications to achieve maximal benefit to the consumer.  I carried out tasks throughout the business day such as communicating to customers to give them brand awareness, the brands value and the 4 Ps (Product, Place, Price and Promotion)  of marketing to better inform their purchase.  Public Relations skills coupled with Professional Sales skills helped present and position the products competing for consumers to give them a selection process that was informed, bright, colorful and cheery.   Supervisory skills were developed in retail which encompassed assisting the primary supervisor with general operational duties such as maintaining inventory, assisting other sales associates and managing the sales floor.

Broadening my experiences with business while I studied my undergraduate program I developed skills in wholesale.  Skills included utilizing supply chain management in order to satisfy consumers on job sites as well as keep a warehouse fully stocked with immediately available supplies from the parent company and on occasion business with manufactures.  This management of the supply chain facilitated job orders all over North East Ohio with contractors involved in the construction industry.  Supervision of the sales desk for the public was a business service skill I developed, which involved supervising the secondary sales desk associate as well as data entry and customer fulfillment of orders.

I consulted  and managed a project with international boundaries.  The project helped develop a global virtual network that would be useful for generating support for future professional interests.  Successful development of this network resulted in satisfactory and sufficient amounts of kick starter funds for a architectural project in Ghana, Africa.  I developed the project in a position that offered access to professional private resources that I possessed through virtual communications with the client and her team.  Advice concerned areas such as managing a public image in order to generate feasible exposure that would be favorable to project objectives in the future as plans began to come to fruition.

As a PAJAAF Research analyst I focused on soliciting companies to assist PAJAAF as donors financially.  Directions for the types of donors that were to be sought out were institutions that supported growth of organizations in poverty stricken areas, universities, and other institutions that funds were readily available.  Instead of following the primary example as a research analyst with latitude on whom to engage, I approached well known companies such as Champion spark plugs, McDonalds, Valvoline and many others.  I thought that companies with well established brands would be good for PAJAAF's brand recognition as a organization looking to penetrate the market in the United States.  Well established brands that we all recognize would certainly bring trust to the consumer and help support PAJAAF.  I think the example I set for research analysts to have confidence approaching such companies was a key to set the tone as to what strategies may be successful with penetrating the United States market.

As a Junior Art Club (JAC) volunteer tasked with developing outreach strategy for volunteers to teach in Ghana, I began my adventure.  My job was to surf the net in search of communities that valued and cherished art of all kinds.  There were many communities with unique perspectives on what celebrating art meant and why.  I entered various communities forums and started threads of advertisements for the communities on JAC's behalf describing the value of the becoming a volunteer in Africa.  It was a wonderful opportunity for an adventure to teach art abroad for all of the Western worlds forums I conducted business with.  I advertised the combination of funding and adventure abroad to attract potential student minds for a lifetime of memories and valuable teaching experience.  It was a teaching expedition and the it was a challenge.
